What is Home Care?
When you choose home care, you are allowing your loved ones to remain at home where they are most comfortable. Home care is different for each client we serve. Each client has their own care plan, which might include preparing a meal, light housekeeping, assistance with bathing, dressing, or grooming. Our Registered Nurses provide individualized care plan for each person we serve. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Is your agency licensed?
CHAS Home Care is licensed by the state of New Jersey.
Why is home care a better option than placing a loved one in a facility?
Home care is always preferred because it allows your loved ones to retain their freedom and remain in a more comfortable, familiar place. Staying home reduces stress and promotes faster healing. Not to mention, home care is usually less expensive than placing your relative in a facility.
What if my caregiver is sick or goes on vacation?
We have a continuous supply of excellent, caring caregivers that are ready on a moment’s notice in case of sickness or emergency. We receive advanced notice of any vacation requests, so that is not usually an issue.
Can I meet the caregiver in advance?
Yes, part of our service is being able to match the right caregiver with the personality of you or your loved one. During the initial assessment a caregiver goes with the nurse to review the plan of care. If for any reason there is no “chemistry” we will send you another caregiver to meet your needs. Our goal is to make your life easier and keep you happy with our services.
Why should I use your service instead of someone in the newspaper?
Our caregivers are our employees – they have been carefully screened and are bonded and insured. You don’t have to worry about their qualifications or the liability of having someone in your home—it is our responsibility.
We have backup – If the caregiver is sick or has an emergency, we have someone ready to step in his or her place—so you don't have to!
We have trained professionals on our staff – Besides our caregivers, we have a trained, professional in-house staff to ensure our operations run smoothly and to address any of your concerns while we are caring for your loved one.
We continually monitor the relationship – From the first day of service, we create a detailed "care plan" that our staff uses to ensure we are achieving the care goals specified during the assessment interview. We follow-up with the client and caregiver on a regular basis.
We take pride in what we do – That means we go the extra mile and will be here when you call on us. We are here to make your life easier!
What is "caregiver burnout"?
Caregiver burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that may be accompanied by a change in attitude - from positive and caring to negative and unconcerned. Burnout can occur when caregivers (usually a family member) don't get the help they need, or if they try to do more than they are able. Caregivers who are "burned out" may experience fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression and loss of work. CHAS Home Care is here to answer any questions you may have. Please don't hesitate to contact us to find out more information.
